Diagramming three textiles, and even learning to weave my own simple one, allowed me to gain a better understanding of the way in which textiles are made, and a better appreciation of their colors, textures, and how these could become three-dimensional. Diagramming and modeling these spatial possibilities became the basis for a design concept for the restaurant designed later on in the semester.
