Phase 01 of the design process was to research, model, and diagram a natural formation. I chose atolls, and studied how the wave patterns, formation over time, sea floor levels, and microclimates make up a gradual pattern of rise and fall, or cadence. I diagrammed and modeled the cadence found in atolls to discover the spatial possibilities of this phenomenon.
